Has anyone else heard any grumblings or anything coming from the US DOT about sleep apnea? I recently read something that came out through the fire service about it. Now I can't remember where I got it, I have many sites I get daily info from so it's easy to lose track. It was an artice about the US DOT talking about sleep apnea and truck drivers, firemen and others who drive and work long shifts.

Re: OSA and US DOT
I heard a little bit of something like this on NPR's ~2wks ago.
Transcript of the NPR show is at:
http://www.npr.org/templates/story/stor ... =120833750
Search down for "Dan Little" - he mentions the FMCSA 2010 effort, which is on the gov web page at:
http://csa2010.fmcsa.dot.gov/
It was more general, as in a whole list of conditions items that could flag drivers as being fatigued - to many of them (not sure if that's 1 or 3 or ...) could get a driver in trouble.

Thanks Slinky. By the way how do you like the weather we skirted and sent your way? Their is more coming. My wife was talking to our friend in Omaha and it is snowing there with about six inches down already. We get their weather within a day or two.

We'll get some here too... current forecast is up to 12 inches in the next day or so... then the wind's supposed to hit.
Re: OSA and US DOT
Stuff it in your ear, GerryK!! You are more than welcome to invite it your way! I'm NOT ready for this snow and cold yet. Plus my area of Michigan, for the time being, is scheduled more for the rain than the snow at last report. And I HATE rain more than I do snow. ESPECIALLY rain AND cold!
My sister said they got 8" up where she is in Michigan the other day when we got just a light dusting here in our area.
