Viewing auto sv data

Post by joe-66 » Sun Dec 06, 2009 12:53 pm

I just started using a Respironics Bipap auto sv and would like to know if there is a way to view data. I can find no way to see basic info like the AHI average, as I could with the auto M series. Thanks.

I'm not sure, but I don't think the BiPAP Auto SV was ever manufactured as an "M" series machine. The BiPAP Auto SV comes only in the older pre-M model, as far as I know. The older pre-M models of any kind of Respironics machine (cpap, autopap, bipap, bipap auto, bipap auto SV) do not show AHI/Leak info on the machine itself. That feature was introduced in the M series machines.

The BiPAP Auto (without "SV" in its name) was manufactured in both a pre-M model and as an M model. I don't think the BiPAP Auto SV ever came out in an M model, though. Not sure.

So, if your BiPAP Auto SV is an older pre-M machine, as I suspect it is, Joe -- then no, there's no way for it to display the AHI/Leak info that you were accustomed to accessing on your M series machine.

Either of these softwares will give you whatever data the BiPAP Auto SV is capable of recording onto the Smart Card in your machine, Joe, but I've not used that machine and don't know if "AHI" is included in its reporting:

Encore Viewer 1.0 (can be purchased by the user.)
Encore Pro 1.8 (supposedly only for doctors/DMEs -- sometimes can be found.)
ResMed S9 VPAP Auto (ASV)
Humidifier: Integrated + Climate Control hose
Mask: Aeiomed Headrest (deconstructed, with homemade straps
3M painters tape over mouth

Rested Gal, thank you very much for the information! I was hoping I could get this data without purchasing the software since my old machine displayed it right off the machine.

As rested gal notes, you can use the Encore Viewer software and a Smart Card reader to download the data from the Smart Card in the BiPAP AutoSV.

The following URL links to some graphs, which show the data available via Encore Viewer:

As you can see, AHI and much more is available by pulling the Smart Card data. Those graphs were part of the following thread:

Enjoy your new unit!

Joe, if you register on this message board (registration is free, and they don't spam you with anything) you'll have Private Message capability. That's a good thing to have, imho.
