TO ALL WHO ARE THINKING OF GIVING UP
TO ALL WHO ARE THINKING OF GIVING UP
I was wondering if it would ever work for me. I started cpap almost 3 years ago. Many, many masks were tried. Finally about a month ago, I started sleeping longer at night, no waking up as much for "potty breaks". I'm amazed every morning that I slept 6 or 7 hours. I think that's my limit. I still get tired during the day, but I think its due to carrying around excess weight. So you might have to try longer than a few months for it to work for you. The thing is now that I sleep at night, I get out of be in the morning and do what needs to be done during the day so at night I sleep better. It was a vicious circle before when I wasn't sleeping during the night. Eventually it will work for you just don't give up until it does. have patience and be persisitant. By the way, the mask that I finally stayed with is the Activa LT.

I think you are right, it's not easy and it takes some determination and willpower to make it work. I was sent home with a mask that for me really made it hard to sleep. Once I found a mask I could use I felt I was on the right path and would benefit from my therapy. I will say I have spent more money out of pocket than I thought I would have to finding a solution that would work for me but in the long run it will pay off. Glad to hear that you are sticking with your therapy. Thanks for the encouragement.

I, too, am one that found I haven't experienced the same sense of being rested as I did on the morning of my titration study. I have been consistent and 100% compliant in my use of my machine. I do feel better, not great though, have more energy, but still feel fatigued at times. I don't know if part of it is my general health, age, weight or what.
I do know that I would take using the machine vs. not using it anyday since it has helped.

Re: TO ALL WHO ARE THINKING OF GIVING UP
I've been trying for 18 months to make this be a good experience. Every once in awhile it all comes together and it's great. Then I have a night like last night. I finally just gave up after a few hours and tried again, and gave up. My biggest problems are that the machine is like a big balloon inflater. It either inflates my head and sinuses, thus a headache. Or it goes into my stomach and I've got a bloated stomach and.... there's a lot of problems with that one. And I have no idea why sometimes it goes for the head and sometimes the stomach.
So it maybe is going to take another year and a half? If that's what it takes... guess I'll keep at it.

Oc what is your pressure at? Normally when someone gets gas like that from cpap the pressure is too high. Your pressure may have been set that high after someone read your machines data and figured higher pressure should do the job. But if you have bad leaks increasing the pressure won't help, it will only make things worst.
