Can weather affect the humidifier ?

I have figured out that I can use nasal pillows as long as I tape my mouth and use the humidifier. Since using the nasal pillows (only started recently during the colder months) my humidifer has been set at 2.5 - and it has worked well. The weather in Melbourne has been very warm and last night I woke to my nasal pillows making a horrendous noise and the tube dripping with water. Obviously I can turn the humidifier down but I'm interested to know whether this is common - should the humidifier be adjusted to the seasons ?

About a week ago I turned my humidifier off, before then I had it on one. I also use a Euky Bear vapouriser and a resmed hose cover. Before the hose cover I had the humidifier set much higher. I still run it over the water, but may take it off altogether if I keep on getting excess water in the FF mask. I run the vapouriser all winter, but in summer it does not make that much difference. I also live in the Hills, which affects the setup, having a lower temperature than the inner area.

All these things can make a difference. Its just a matter of swapping and changing until you get it right.

Am keeping my fingers and toes crossed for Thursday and Friday.

In a temperate, maritime climate like Melbourne, yes, it will probably need some adjustment.

Temperate, maritime climate here ... Seattle. Same mask as the OP. Lots of problems with condensation until I got a Sleepzone heated hose -- made in Australia. Not cheap, but worth it to me. Pam
