Update on E51 error code fisher & Paykel

Post by Helen365 » Mon Nov 16, 2009 1:23 pm

Hello Everyone,

I wanted to give an update on what I found out about the E51 error code from Fisher & Paykel. This code is an error with the internal memory as one of the previous poster's said. Fisher & Paykel Rep said though it wont hurt the function of the machine it should still be replaced because it may effect the compliance information.

So, I do have an appointment tomorrow with the DME and I will take the email that Fisher & Paykel sent with me to show them what was said. I want to make sure they do replace my machine and not try to fix it or something beings the DME didn't know what the code meant.

Thank you all so much for helping me out. I really CPAPTALK very helpful.

Helen

Good luck Helen! Don't let the DME fob off an inferior machine on you!!!

Huggers,
Barbara

Thanks, Barbara. I will definitely make sure they give me a new machine. I got another response back from Fisher & Paykel Rep and she told me she documented my machine model and s/n and gave me a reference number. When I go to the appointment tomorrow she told me to give them the reference number and have them call F&P and they will get me a new machine. At this point I feel like I'm ahead of the game. I sure hope so anyway.

Hugs, Helen

i couldn't find anything a few weeks ago when i searched google for this error code -- tried again tonight and happened upon your post! it just started happening to my machine (i think it's the same as yours) maybe a month ago. if you don't mind, can you tell me who you contacted at fisher & paykel? was she a rep local to you?

man, it would sure help if they just listed the error codes in the manual or something.

I too have just had the E51 code on my Sleepstyle 200. On contacting Fisher and Paykel I have been told its a software issue that renders the capturing of sleep data no longer possible and cannot be fixed.
The machine still works but without any sleep data its like flying blind. I am going to try and get a replacement machine from F&P as it is obviously an inherent issue with the machine and cant be fixed

My first two CPAPs were F&Ps (1999 and 2005). They were very good machines in their days. In fact, the 2005 is still my spare machine!

However, I haven't heard much good about their newer machines!
