CPAP pro (nomask.com) - experiences

Post by prestifare » Sun Nov 15, 2009 6:02 am

Anyone tried out the CPAP pro from nomask.com? Care to share experiences? Judging from the marketing spin on the site it seems almost too good to be true, but I can't find any real life experiences neither here on these forums nor anywhere else.

I sleep on my side for the most part (Swift LT headgear), and I wake up quite often due to leakage caused by either the straps moving due to friction (tried taping them to my chin with sports tape, helped somewhat) or the nasal pillow getting knocked out of position sideways, so I think a strapless solution such as the CPAP pro would be a godsend.

Please share if you have objective (no sales pitches, please) experience with the system, as shelling out nearly 200$ for something that might not work from overseas (I live in Europe) is a bit of a stretch.

Here is a list of links on it from rested gal to click on:

My personal opinion is that I don't like anything outside the mouth to be attached to the teeth in that way for safety and comfort reasons. Everything is a trade-off, so I guess a lot of dentists and other docs don't mind. But I don't like it.

I use a mandibular advancement device along with my PAP therapy, so I have no trouble with stuff in my mouth that puts some pressure on my teeth. But linking up the nose-pillows assembly to the top teeth like that seems unnatural in a bad way.

I have found the combination of a dentist-made jaw-advancement device and nasal pillows to be what has worked best for me. My device helps keeps my mouth shut. The boil-and-bite part on the "nomask" doesn't do that for you.
