Mask setting on ResMed for Fitlife mask

Post by TXLadybug » Sat Nov 07, 2009 8:35 pm

I have a ResMed Autoset II w/EPR set on auto from 9-20. Just got a Respironics Fitlife mask, but can't find anywhere what mask setting I should use. Does anyone know? Thanks.

Find the FitLife's vent rate (likely in user manual) and compare it to ResMed's masks at: http://www.resmed.com/us/assets/documen ... sa_eng.pdf
Figure out which mask's vent rate is closest to your mask and then use that in the MASK SETTING on your xPAP.

My Hybrid mask's vent rate is higher than the ResMed masks so I use the "MIR FULL" setting. I just had my first night's sleep & data. The overnight leak rate is just about how much more my mask's vent rate is above the closest ResMed mask at the 95thcentile so although this isn't ideal it's close enough for me. Ideal would be for us to be able to program our mask's vent rate into the xPAP and let it do all the math!

Use the Standard MaskSelection. Your Resmed will deduct 0.4 L/s (24 L/M) from the reported Leak rate. So add 24 L/M to the reported Leak rate and compare that to the allowed vent rate for the FitLife mask at your pressure.
