How to reinforce Breeze plenum shell?

I absolutely LOVE my Breeze headgear, but no matter how careful I am about putting it on and taking it off, the plastic plenum shell breaks where it connects to the adjustible slider "thingy" about every 3 months. Since the replacement part is almost as expensive as a whole new headgear, does anyone know how to reinforce the plenum shell to avoid breakage?

I very delicately fibreglassed one back together and used it quite a while before I ordered a new one. Best way to take it off your head is from back to front, thereby not bending the plastic front. I love my Breeze too.
