Hello,
I have muscular dystrophy and have been using Bipap M-Series Auto for almost two years. It doesn't work good for me, as it forces me to inhale and exhale at inappropriate times (the sensitivity of the IPAP and EPAP trigger is too high I guess). That's why I've decided to move on Resmed VPAP unit - because I will have the option of setting the sensitivity of IPAP and EPAP initiation. So my question is:
Are Resmed S8 VPAP Auto 25 and VPAP III ST-A in reality the same unit, the only difference being S8 VPAP 25 missing the S/T and T options (and alarms) of VPAP III ST-A?
From what I have read S8 VPAP Auto 25 has all the other functions of ST-A:
# Vsync with TiControl breath synchronization
# Easy-Breathe motor and waveform
# Adjustable breath trigger.cycle
# Adjustable exhalation pressure profile
# Auto-adjusts for OSA events
# Adaptive learning to breathing patterns
# SmartStart/Stop
# Mask Alarm
Do I miss something that ST-A have and S8 25 doesn't have?
And one final question to the owners of S8 VPAP 25 - is the Pressure Support "ON" in Spontaneous Mode? Can S8 VPAP 25 run in Spontaneous Mode - say IPAP 20, EPAP 4 (Pressure Support should be "OFF" in order for that to be possible)?
Oh, and another question - what is the max value of TiControl in S8 VPAP 25? Is it 4 seconds - just as in ST-A?
Thank you very much! You help will be much appreciated.
