upgrade for the Resmed 4Hii Humidifier

Post by rise&shiner » Sat Oct 31, 2009 10:35 pm

I just received the upgrade water chamber for the 4hii humidifier.(This is not the same as the kit to replace the 3Hii water chamber) How nice it is that you can actually open it up to clean it and it is dishwasher safe too boot. I was being real anal about not being able to get the original chamber clean and dry betweeneach use. Now I will be able to rest easy. Now why the unit isn't just coming with this chamber is a complete mystery to be. The price isn't any different and it is made by resmed not a 3rd party.

If you look at the cpap.com site you can see that you can purchase the "deluxe" water tank that you have for an additional cost. I agree it should be the standard, but of course the insurance companies want to pay for the cheaper non-open-able/non-dishwasher safe tank.

Some users don't mind seals on their humidifier tanks, while others prefer to have a tank without seals.

Cheers,

Bill

Any problems with it (yet)?
Mask: ResMed Mirage Swift LT
Machine: ResMed S8 Elite
Humidifier: ResMed Humidaire H3i (off and dry, but it reduces the noise coming through the hose)
Pressure: 10 cm H2O
AHI: under 6.0 (pre-CPAP 89.5)

I am still glad that I got the upgrade. For me it is much easier to clean, and since I had a .very bad cold and I had piece of mind that I was able to run it through the dishwasher and give it a thorough cleaning. I did let me myy DME know that I think this should be be standard equipment.

they agreed .

So the bottom pops off on the upgraded version?
