S8 autoset II data recovery and Vista

Post by rbtgjns » Fri Oct 30, 2009 3:13 am

I have been reading that there are problems with VISTA 64X and RESSCAN soft ware.

I have an Autoset II and a data card.

Should I purchase the RESSCAN CARD READER FOR THE S8 and use the RESSCAN version 3.7 software.

Will I need to down load a specific driver in addition to the 3.7 software?

Please let me know what has been successful.

Sorry I can't help. I uses the data card reader and ResScan 3.7 on a Windows XP computer and both work great. The only issue I have is my data card does not seem to be able to record data more than maybe 5 times and then I need a new one because I get an error message on the used one. Luckily, my DME gives me a new data card when I need one.

Some users report problems, others have it working fIne (including me).

That's where you need to start.

You may need to download the most recent x64 driver for the card reader from the ACS web site (I didn't need to do that, both others have reported that they needed to).

Cheers,

Bill

Have been using usb data transfer on XP with no problems.
Tried to do same with laptop Vista x64 as am going away for a few weeks and had driver hassles.
Downloaded updated drivers from ACR site(recommended site) and installed but no solution.
Still get no device attached error.
Data Software installs without a problem and says drivers successfully installed.
Have tried many options but no luck so far.
Will try again on my return perhaps with a clearer mindset.
