Selling mask liners?

Post by wireless » Sat Oct 24, 2009 9:24 pm

I was talking with a friend of mine, and he is possibly interested in making
and selling mask liners that are affordable and function well. They would
be cut precisely to fit your particular mask model. (I was complaining that
I couldn't find inexpensive good ready made ones.) I was hoping to get
some input for him if you don't mind.

For those of you who make your own liners regularly, would you consider
buying disposable thin inexpensive ones?

Would you prefer a multi-night nicer quality liner (perhaps even washable)
or a less durable one-night liner? Imagine that the per-night cost was
the same either way. (Or maybe a luxurious liner with a long life span?)

We were hoping someone might have good ideas on what sort of
material to use for the liner. Obviously research would be done too
but information could be of great help. Also if anyone has info on
materials to avoid, that wouldn't work well enough.

Is there anything a mask liner must have, should have, must not have?

If the liner increased your comfort, along with being more hygienic, is
that enough reason to buy? Or would your main reason for buying be
if it reduced leakage? (I feel like comfort is the top thing for me.)

Any guesses on whether this is a good or bad mini business to get into?
Of course I said he wouldn't get rich by any means, and he would like to
help people and just make a little bit so it's worth the time. I am not good
at business but I was just reading one or two threads on here and it
seems like enough people here would like inexpensive liners that didn't
suck.

And any other input you would like to give would be appreciated. (I
don't know a lot about liners yet, but I wanted to get this posted.)
Need to restart BiPAP therapy, never got adjusted enough. ResMed VPAP Auto with H3i humidifier, Mirage Quattro Full Face mask, ResScan 3.5. On paper, my Dx is OSAS, but it's probably UARS. Reduced amount of REM. Titrated at very low I/E pressures.

Funny,I was just on LegalZoom.com looking at provisional patent videos and noticed the Remzzzs Liner guy had posted a video on there.
They're pimping legal zoom in promotional videos to win a contest.
(I was looking for the Hot Dog Steamer video, because I bought one!)
