Enhancement request: equipment image titles

Post by briank » Fri Oct 16, 2009 9:27 am

Many users choose to display their equipment as images. Unfortunately, this makes it difficult to answer their equipment-specific questions because you have to click on the image to view the product page to see their specific model.

How about adding a "title" attribute containing the textual equipment description to either the HTML "img" (image) or "a" (link) tag so that the details can easily be seen just by mousing over the image without having to actually open the product page?

Great idea. When I access this site at work, the images are blocked by the "nanny" software, since for some reason, they website they reside on are blocked.

Ditto to what Brian said. Actually, I prefer to see names of the equipment and not any pictures at all. Choosing "text" instead of "image" is a better way to display one's equipment choices, imho.

Having the name of the things appear when you mouse over the picture would at least be better than the way it is now for those who choose "image."

On the few occasions I decide to go to the trouble to see what machine or mask a person who has listed pictures of their stuff uses, I never click the picture at all. I click the person's nickname at the left, which takes me to their Profile. The names of all their stuff are written out in their Profile. It's also possible to rightclick the picture and leftclick "Properties" to see the name of the item in the name of the picture, but that's not as quick and easy to see as it is from the Profile.

Anyway, good idea Brian!! I'd vote for that!
