Insurance Covering Card Reader and Software?

Post by Spuddlethud » Tue Oct 13, 2009 7:55 am

I know I need to check with my DME, but I tend to believe that my BCBS won't cover software and a card reader. Has anyone ever been able to get their insurance to cover something like that? Is it pretty much unheard of?

I mean the world would just come to an end if we were able to have insurance help us manage our own sleep therapy wouldn't it?

Some years ago I believe my insurance (through a state university) paid by the software needed to read the output from my machine. The doctor had requested it.
