Erasing Previously Stored Data

Post by BigOffshoreDaddy » Tue Oct 06, 2009 4:43 pm

I was given a "new" machine today by my doctor, REMstarAuto M Series with humidifier. So now I have graduated from CPAP to BiPAP. I have already went into the clinician's menu (thank you all for the informative posts!) and verified my settings. However, after looking into the machine, it seems that I am not the first person to have it. Someone else had it for about 3 nights, and their data is on it.

If you are familiar with this machine, would somebody please tell me how to erase the data that is previously on the machine? Or is that something that needs to be done by erasing the data card?

As always, thank you for your assistance!

I believe you need to erase the card to get rid of the data. I don't know if you can set the hours on the machine back to zero, I don't think so.
Do you have the card reader and software?

Therapy Usage Screen

This screen displays the amount of time that the patient
has received therapy (with the blower on and the patient
connected). The screen displays both a 7 and 30-day average.
The maximum value that can be displayed for both
averages is 24 hours.

You can reset these values and all of the other Data screens
to zero by pressing the – button for approximately 5 seconds.
This data may be useful in tracking patient compliance.
Resetting the values will not erase the total operation
time or other patient data.

It has been a while since I did it but I think this will do it. Unplug the unit. Enter set-up mode by holding in the arrow keys while puging it in. Continur holding the arrow keys for 4 or 5 seconds until it beep twice. Press the + button to enter set-up. lress the left arrow until you cycle to the Therapy Useage screen. Hold the - key for 5 seconds. Should clear everything except the blower hours which can't be cleared.

if you really have the bipap plus why bother? no real data on that machine - do you really want to know how many nights you used it over 4 hours?????????

however if you have a different machine, please correct your profile to indicate this

- That will be my next thing to get.

- Being that I am still a noob to some / all of this, both therapy and forum, please have a bit of patience. However, I still want to track my therapy and progress with this machine, until I am familiar with it like I was with my other one. I inadvertently picked the wrong machine from the pull down menu... Hey, I'm still a noob to some of this!

Thank you to all that offered their wisdom...I appreciate it!

You will find the make & model of the machine written in white letters right across the top of the machine.

It is a very common mistake for folks to select the wrong model from the drop down menu. bc people with OSA are prone to mistake and/or forget things then get mad at everyone else - I suggest writing down the machine make & model and the mask make & model.

ALL of the M series machines look alike - I think there are 9 different models but 4 ONLY show compliance data (hours the machine was used). Again it is common to mistake the different models.

Do not even ask me why they named it a Plus model when there are NO Pluses about not collecting any useful data.

You know the make & model even the year of the car you drive. There is no reason you cannot learn the make/model of your Life Saving CPAP equipment, is there?

That's a generic YOU - so don't write card or letters folks just find out what it is you put your face into
You will impress your friends and maybe your doctor too.
