CAN'T WAIT!!! NEED FullLife Product Challenge Results

Post by Cobalt Panther » Tue Oct 06, 2009 5:07 am

I can't wait any longer When will we be getting the FullLife Product Challenge results Okay, in the spirit of full disclosure, I have a hard time waiting for Christmas too.
Sorry to rant about this (since my lack of patience is the problem) but I have given up on the Quattro and need a new mask. I also have to say that even though I don't like the idea of the nose things, I am considering the Hybrid if the FullLife does not pan out. The possibility of a lack of leaks in the eyes is very cool. The reason I am even considering this mask is this site and all the positive stuff said about it.
Thanks again for listening to me.

Hope those last few hours of waiting weren't too too unbearable. Here is the link to the post on the challenge. I will provide the summary tomorrow. But for today, I want EVERYONE to read those results. They are shocking, Charlie Chaplin back flip inducing results.

You'll find the Results post in the announcements of the forum.

Those who participated to did a wonderful job assessing the masks and providing their feedback. I am eager to learn more from those who participated and those who have tried the masks. Please comment on the thread.

Yes, such a science-based and non-biased challenge. LOL.

Please explain how to make the challenge more "science-based". Or does your work for Respironics not allow you to? It was a fair fight. You guys tried and lost. Now read our comments and go learn how to make your product better rather than lurking here like a coward and posting worthless, anonymous comments.

It looks like a LOT of people are having the nose of bridge issue. I would even say it's like putting your nose through a meat grinder.

They have to redesign how the cushion works at the bridge of the nose.

It's actually a very comfy mask and I wasn't really having issues with leaks. I love that it doesn't have a forehead pice, but it is a bit louder than my ResMed micro nasal mask.

If this mask didn't chew up my nose, I'd be wearing it right now. I've waited over a week for my nose to heal and plan on going to Walgreens for some moleskin to try Bleeping Beauty's solution.

Also, as for the clips, I got one of those add-on clips for my head gear and it works fine.

Do you want photos? I bet the message of what this mask does to people's noses would be loud and clear if they posted some pics. I might even be willing to wear it one night without moleskin to show what it does to me.

Good suggestion from Tony.

Here's another suggestion -- when a mask is still being developed, while it's practically still on the drawing board, enlist the help of experienced cpap users like many of the people on this board. Send the first prototype to a few of them to try and critique privately to you. Do that BEFORE the development of a new mask has gotten so far along that it's too expensive to start from scratch.

It doesn't do you much good to develop a mask all the way to the point of "we'll release it right after a trial" and then send it to some DMEs to try on patients. Incidentally, feedback from DMEs will not give you anywhere NEAR as realistic an assessment as will the feedback from people on this message board -- like that of the ones who participated in the challenge.

Wouldn't it be better to hear critiques from experienced users before a new mask goes into full production?

I would also add that the design engineers should wear the prototypes a few nights themselves to see what it does.
