Mouth leak question

Post by paul9123 » Fri Oct 02, 2009 8:11 pm

Hi,

I've been experimenting with an Activa LT mask and loving the comfort.

Last two days, though, I've been unusually drowsy during the day.

The numbers on the machine look great, no leakage, AHI < 5.

If I were mouth breathing, would the machine show increased leakage?

I have been a little congested the last couple of days, could I just not be getting enough pressure via the nose?

Thanks!

Paul, I loved the comfort of the Activa. Was my favorite as far as comfort, but I'm a mouth breather, so I had to move on. Don't recall leakage due to mouth breathing though.

Yes,the machine cannot tell the difference between mask leaking and mouth leaking. Maybe you are feeling extra tired because you are coming down with a cold? Just a thought.
