ResScan 3.7 & Vista 64 bit
I bought the ResScan 3.7 and USB cable, but the driver won't install on my Vista Home 64 bit operating system. Any ideas on how to get it installed? Will the Data Card Reader install on ResScan?

I have the ACR-38 card reader drivers and Rescan 3.7 installed and running fine with Vista x64 Ultimate.... and it should also work with any x64 version of Vista.Geezer Guy wrote:I Will the Data Card Reader install on ResScan?
I don't have the S8-to-PC direct USB cable connection, so can't help you with that.
Cheers,
Bill

I never could get the ResScan to work on my VISTA 64-bit computer with the USB driver. Luckily it loaded fine on my XP laptop. Sorry I don't have a better solution, do you have a computer with XP you could test it out on? just to make sure it's not the software
Re: ResScan 3.7 & Vista 64 bit
Both of my computers are running Windows 7 64-bit; the drivers packaged with ResScan didn't work for me either. Instead, I grabbed the drivers from the ACR38 manufacturer's website, installed them, and everything is working smoothly.
Here's the link to their site with driver downloads for various operating systems: http://www.acs.com.hk/drivers-manual.php?driver=ACR38

Re: ResScan 3.7 & Vista 64 bit
Welcome Geezer Guy,
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
I have Vista 64 and ResScan 3.7. I tried every way possible to install the USB cable and could not get it to work. When I looked into the files for the drivers it didn't say anything about Vista.
I gave in and got the card reader. It installed and worked right away with no problems.

Lorne,
you are referring to drivers for the Card Reader. The OP (and myself) has the USB cable. Any suggestions for USB cable drivers? (other than buying the Card Reader)

Whoops. Sorry!
Re: ResScan 3.7 & Vista 64 bit
I obtained an Australian version of the software from eBay and can't get it to recognize the smart card. Resscan sees the generic ACR38 and all of the ACS diagnostics software indicates the drivers are installed correctly and working. I am even running the card monitoring tool and it shows the card is inserted and connected.
I am running this on a Windows 7 64-bit machine.
Any ideas?

Re: ResScan 3.7 & Vista 64 bit
Are you using the usb cable or the card reader? Your first message asks about the cable, but your second talks about the card reader. When you say "won't recognize the card," what's the error message? Are you using the card reader? If so, make sure the card is inserted correctly. Machine = gold contacts down. Card reader = gold contacts UP.
