Machine readings help?

Post by DaMa » Sun Sep 13, 2009 7:46 pm

I want to track my progress on CPAP, but cannot afford to buy the software and card reader right now. It looks like I can get 4 numbers from the S8 Elite II machine. What should I be looking for? Friday night they were AHI 4.7, HI 5.6, AI 1.1, leak .04 l/s.

This morning they were all 0. Do I need to do something to get a reading each morning?

Thanks for all the help! I would have given up that first week if I hadn't found this board.

Did you check before 12 Noon? Data must be obtained before 12 PM.

Your profile shows and Escape II, if you have the Elite II you might want to change your profile so we won't get confused.

Any AHI under 5 is considered normal. Your AI is 1.1, very good. Your HI is 5.6, but the resmed machines are known to mark Hypopneas harsher than other machines. This means with any other machine the HI would be about half or 2.3 . With an AI of 1.1 and an HI of 5.6 your AHI can't be 4.7, but if the AI and HI info are correct you are within normal limits. Leak is good if machine is set correctly for the mask.
