No. Who's on first. Machine's on second.

My mashine starts automatically when I put on the mask and breath in and out a few times.

A couple of reasons for "A".
If you're using a full face mask that has seals like the UMFF or Quattro (the ones I'm familiar with), those seals need to be rolled inward to provide a good seal to the face because the airflow may blow them out of place if the machine starts first.
If you have a data-capable machine, if the machine is started before the mask is in place, it will probably skew the leak numbers.
Other than that......whatever works best for you......as long as you get the thing on, get a decent seal and get a good night's sleep.

Even when I taped, mask went on first. I just took a big, deep breath through my nose before turning on the machine.Marietjie wrote:I've got my mouth taped so the machine mustNot Sleeping in NJ wrote:B) Machine on first then mask.

Now that I no longer tape, it's still A, mask on first.

Same here. And when I take the mask off, I take a big breath, hold it, shut off the machine and then un-clip it. If you shut the machine off without holding your breath, it feels really weird.....like a smaller version of sticking the vacuum cleaner hose in your mouth (with the vacuum running, of course)twokatmew wrote:Even when I taped, mask went on first. Mask on first, machine's on second. Taping done before both are put on. My mask starts automatically after I put my mask on, also.

Re: Machine on first or ?
This is a trick question. Answer is B. My machine is alway's on, I never unplug it. I push the start button, after putting on mask.
