Software help

Post by dream_weaver » Fri Aug 14, 2009 11:57 am

Hi:

Please help me with this one. I am running Vista 64 bit. I have smart card and smart card reader. I also have EncorePro software, the 1st version only. I do not have the 1.8 version. I have never been able to get all data, i think a problem with SQL data base on old computer running Windows XP.

Is there any hope for me to get this software working? Or should I just go ahead and buy the new Encore Viewer.

Thanks for help. Wanted to be sure that I need Encore Viewer.

Thanks

I'm just bumping this post.

I have Encore Viewer with 32 bit Vista and no problems. I understand there can be a problem with 64 bit Vista. Someone may have been able to do it.

I'm pretty sure, though, that you can't run anything but the latest version of Encore Pro on 64 bit Vista.

Anybody?

Maybe try running it as admin?
  1. Right click on the icon for Encore Viewer.
  2. Click on Properties.
  3. Click on the Compatibility tab.
  4. Check the box labeled "Run this program as an administrator".
  5. Click OK.
I'm just guessing, but an older version of the software that we support at my work needs that to run properly. It's worth a shot. You can always uncheck that box if it doesn't work.

Hi:
Thanks for help. I do not have Encore Viewer as yet.
I amwondering if I can somehow get Encore Pro, first version, not 1.8 to work.
If not, I will purchase Encore Viewer.

According to Respirionics Encore Pro (even 1.8i)and Viewer will not run on 64 Bit. Will work on 32 Bit. There have been a couple of people that have reported that they have gotten it to work on 64 bit but no one I have seen has been able to come up with a complete set of instructions on how to do it so that those with limited computer knowledge can manage it. I do know it involves going other places and downloading differnt drivers etc. Several that finally got it to work have had problems keeping it working. I would work for a while and just quit.
Good luck.

I have not been able to get EncoreViewer to work on Vista 64. If you follow the instructions on this thread: viewtopic/t44273/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=40 ... or#p351806 you should be able to get EncorePro version 1.8.49 or newer to work on Vista 64. Gregor posted the instructions about half way down the page.

Lately I have been using a feature on the RC version of Windows 7 64bit called XP mode. On many newer computers this Virtual windows XP will work. The Processor in your computer must have Virtualization Technology capabilities. Intel and AMD websites have the information you can research for your particular computer. This feature of Windows 7 allows me to run EncoreViewer in a virtual Windows XP computer on my 64bit system and the feature seems to work rather well.

The Professional and Ultimate versions of Windows 7 will be able to use this feature. The Windows 7 Home versions will not run it. It is a feature that must be downloaded from the Microsoft website after you have installed Windows 7.
