respironics m series cpap on ebay

I thought that no one could sell cpaps on ebay because it is a medical device requiring a prescription from a doctor.

If you want it, bid on it fast. Ebay will take it down.

Of course cpap machines are not allowed on ebay and will disappear as fast as they appear!

If you want a really good machine deal, just watch cpapauction.com. You really have to look at the machine and contact the seller, especially if they are using pictures from cpap.com. If it is a picture of the actual machine then you are probably okay. I contact and ask the seller to tell me exactly what it says on the top of the machine. M Series machines all appear the same. Of course, this doesn't guarantee anything but I took a chance twice on a machine and both are great! I live in Canada so also have to be sure they will ship via the Postal Service since there is a brokerage fee if it comes by UPS or any other courier. I always ask for the shipping cost before I bid (I do the same with masks). That would not be a problem for US buyers. Even though many sellers do not indicate they will ship to Canada, if you ask most of them will. I also want to be sure it is from a non-smoking househould!

I got an M Series Pro for $150 (I think it was 15 blower hours)- no humidifier, a few months ago and an M Series Auto with A-Flex with humidifier (the R3 version) just last week. The Auto with A-Flex was $275 and had 30 blower hours on it! I thought the bidding would go much higher but I was lucky!

I wanted a good backup when I got the Pro but then this Auto with A-Flex came up last week. It is the machine I was already using and thought a backup machine just the same for that price was just too good to pass up. Even with the exchange I did save a bundle!

I am using the M Series Auto A-Flex that I bought last week right now. With 30 blower hours, it is newer than my own M Series auto with A-Flex. It works great!

Hawthorne, just curious, will you be using the one you just got as your primary machine and your own as backup? I'm asking because we just bought a backup M Series Auto C-Flex complete with very low blower hrs and like new from a member here. We tested it for a few nights and it was fine, even seemed to report lower AHI and Leaks. I was wondering if that's why you're using your newer one? Do different machines, same manufacturer, score differently?

Dori - I have gone back to my original A-Flex and have the one I bought on the auction site packed with a mask, hose and everything for travel and backup. The one I bought has fewer hours than my own but the humidfier was attached and I use the F & P stand alone humidifier at home. I did't bother changing things. I want to use the one with the integrated humidifier for travel so left it that way.

I found no difference in either machine in terms of scoring my events. When I was testing out the lightly used one I bought on the auction site, I just left the integrated humidifier on and tested the humidifier it as well. I prefer my stand alone humidifier for regular use because I can preheat it. I rarely use anything but pass over humidity but winter is coming and I may use a little heat. I like it preheated when I do use a little heat!

I still have the Pro that I bought on the auction site as well so I have 2 backup machines. I prefer a narrow auto range though so the Pro is a backup to the backup!
