New FullLife CPAP Mask by Respironics

Post by thecpapreview » Tue Aug 04, 2009 3:01 pm

Hey CPAPTalk!

I just got my hands on my very own FullLife Full Face CPAP mask by Respironics. You can buy it on cpap.com at this link: https://www.cpap.com/productpage.php?PNum=3035&PAID=678

I have to say, I was skeptical (but excited) about the mask before I got it, but after I tried it I liked it so much that I created a new blog with a full review (complete with lots of pictures and a couple videos of me demonstrating the features). You can find my review at my new CPAP review blog:

Hope you all find my review helpful, and that everyone out there is getting good rest!

Thanks for that really comprehensive and informative review.

I've been waiting on one of these masks and have just been told that I can pick it up from my DME on Friday. I'm even more excited to get it now, after reading your review.

Thank you for a most thorough review! I look forward to hearing how it works out over time. I think the FullLife will be the next mask I acquire.

Thanks to everyone who checked out my review. I really enjoy your comments and feedback!

I was thinking about doing another review. Any mask (or other product) suggestions?

I kind of want to try out the "Respironics FitLife." (Check it out: https://www.cpap.com/productpage/respir ... dgear.html)

I am so curious to see how a "Total Face" CPAP mask would feel like. Would anybody else be interested in seeing me review it?

I saw the blogspot. Very thorough and informative. Keep it up.

I sleep on my side a lot and would like to know how the masks would perform that way.

I am in my 4th year with a CPAP. Mine has no memory card or software to analyze it. Is that something new? How helpful are the stats you get from the machine? Should I get a machine that does that?

Software and memory cards are really helpful because they let you SEE how well your therapy is going (i.e. how often your mask leaks, how many apneas you're having, etc.). Based on that information, you can make a more educated decision on what the right CPAP mask and equipment is for you to use.

Also, I appreciate the side-sleeping feedback. I'll update my FullLife review to include information on how the mask works for side-sleepers, as well as cover that area in my future product reviews.

I'm interested in knowing about the FitLife. I would think the eyes would dry out or be uncomfortable and side sleeping might be a challenge. I look forward to seeing what you have to say.

The FitLife is designed to work for people that can't get other FF masks to seal well. But one has to be willing to wear a mask that covers the eyes.

It would be interesting to see the results from a group of people.

I just got off the phone with my DME and I ordered the Resprinocs FullLife Fit Pack Mask for my nexy shipment at the end of August. I have been considering getting a FF Mask for some time now as I am currently using the Swift II and swift LT Nasal Pillows but with winter coming soon and The dreaded thought of Congestion due to my Allergies I ordered the FullLife Mask with the Fit Pack. That way I can determine what size pillows work best for me. My DME says that it will be shipped to me By UPS and should arrive within two to three weeks. I am excited about getting this mask after reading all the reviews and I hope I do not have serious Leak Problems with this mask. I have been using chin straps with the Swift due to mouth Breathing Issues. Does anyone know if I might have to continue using the Chin Straps with this mask ? Thank you

The FullLife has chin support built in - it's not a chin-strap persay, but you can tighten it enough so that it helps to keep your jaw shut.

If you haven't yet, take a look at my blog ( http://thecpapreview.blogspot.com/ ). I did a review of the FullLife and there is a picture of me wearing it where you can see the chin support I'm talking about.

What if your jaw did drop in the Fulllife mask? Would it leak? The Quattro FF has a silicon flap that moves to accommodate jaw dropping. With this mask I think i may require a chin strap which along with the strap required for the mask means it is going to be crowded under my chin.

You shouldn't need to use a chin strap, considering its a full face. I just tried the FullLife on again and tried to open my mouth as wide as possible. I broke the seal, but I had to fight to do it. I don't think in my sleep I would be opening my mouth wide enough for it to be a problem.

Come to think of it, has anybody ever used a chin strap with a full face?

Excellent review! I have a question for the author if you're still hanging around. I mostly sleep on my side, often with my head pointed a little down into the pillow. It tends to help stabilize my Quattro when I sleep like that, reducing leaks. I don't know if I slept like that before CPAP. I think it would have pressed my nose shut and made me drool on the pillow, but I don't have to worry about that any more. Anyway, the Quattro's vent is above the bridge of the nose and never gets blocked, even if my face is angled down. Do you think that position would tend to block one of the Full Life's vents?
