only 20 days in, and have a question. . .

Post by doublesuffcones » Sat Aug 01, 2009 2:07 pm

i haven't been able to find a thread about this so if any one knows of one please direct me. . . . i am having a problem with my nasal mask not so much the mask as when i sleep i have been noticing that the area under the mask gets very hot and i'll start to sweat under it which then makes it feel like i am "raining out" does any one have any insight into this problem that can help me fir it so i can get some good sleep. ( i do have a humidifier on and it's set on 1 i have tried to lower it down even farther but got very dried out and the night ended with a bloody nose.) thanks for your time.

I had this problem with my full face mask and the only thing that seemed to help was cooling the air that was entering the mask. I started turning on the A/C in my bedroom. I also considered adding a little ice to my humidifier and turning the heat off, but never did end up trying it because I changed masks and no longer had the issue.

I have the opposite problem, the air is too cold.
I solved it by keeping the hose underneath the covers.

I know WHY my air is too cold. When I go to sleep, the AC is set at 66 degrees, on "high", and the ceiling fan is also on High. If your air/mask is too hot, try turning your bedroom into an ice box like mine is!

Padacheek makes a very nice cushion cover, which is my term for lack of another. I didn't see it on her website, but if you would PM her or contact her through her site, she will make a custom layer for you that will solve your problem.

She also makes hose covers that will help to insulate that nice warm air, and helps immensely with rainout! http://www.padacheek.com

believe it or not my bedroom is not hot, of course that might have to do with the fact that my hubby can't sleep unless he has (what he calls) the hovercraft fan on (it's a 36" pedestal fan.) i was having problems with rain out from the room being to cold but fixed it with a snuggle. now i just get to hot. any other ideas?
