I really was hoping I'd get a new APAP but the dr said that they are going to try me at the new pressure of 12cm for a few weeks and then when I go to see her on Aug 12 we will determine if I need a fluctuating pressure or a higher constant pressure. The nurse said that I did fluctuate throughout the night but stuck mostly with 12cm during the night and hitting as high as 15cm (which is the top of the range they had set on my AutoPAP loaner I had, not up to 20cm like I think they should have done but who am I to question the all knowing dr and her nurse LOL) around the time I woke up. So we're trying the 12cm. Tonight will be the first night so we shall see how well it works.

New pressure...up 5cm...no new APAP :(
Re: New pressure...up 5cm...no new APAP :(
Next time you go to the Doctor, ask to look in the hat they pull the patient pressure numbers out of, just to make sure your treatment isn't rigged.
A doctor changing your pressure by 5 cm at your next visit is a sure sign they don't have a clue. You need a data capable XPAP and the software and reader, and a small light bulb, you are clearly being treated in the dark. Jim

Use data to optimize your xPAP treatment!

Well they put me on an APAP loaner and used that to determine a new pressure. I didn't think they would up it so much all at one visit/one time. I thought you were should slowly increase it but who am I to question the dr...only the patient who has to live with this! Anywho, I did feel better this morning after sleeping with the higher pressure. Not as well as I did on the APAP (boy did I feel better after that!) but better nonetheless. So it's a start. Sometimes I do wonder if they have their cliff notes and are trying to treat me based on that instead of actual knowledge. Oh and I do have a data capable machine thankfully! Thanks so much for your input!!Goofproof wrote:Next time you go to the Doctor, ask to look in the hat they pull the patient pressure numbers out of, just to make sure your treatment isn't rigged.
