Hi, as a Newbie, I welcome the Newbie Page, but, alas do not have time to trawl through every page and comment. But, note that there is a lot of good information and advice therein.
I am trying to find a Battery Connection Cable for my ResMed 8, which I have been supplied with by my Sleep Clinic to use when travelling abroad. In particular for use during flights. I have a CPAP Battery which I purchased especially for use with a Puritan Bennett Goodknight 420 S at the behest of Singapore Airlines. The Puritan Bennett has given up the ghost as it expired somewhere between Melbourne, Australia and Singapore, Malaysia.
I am most reluctant to purchase another power pack DC Converter call it what you will, as the Battery Pack I have is quite adequate other than none of my connectors fit the DC Point on the ResMed.
I await your kindly advice and suggestions, and look forward to hearing from you at your convenience.

Re: ResMed Autoset Spirit II Battery Cable
Welcome Gambian3,
There is a ton of knowledge here so you are in the right place. If I don't have it right, I'm sure some one with more experience will be along to correct me. I'd try contacting our host CPAP.COM. I know that they have the proper cable for the Resmed S8 machine. The same cable might work for your machine. I don't know, but I'm sure they can tell you. If I remember correctly, Resmed machines are built a little differently and have the polarity reversed so one must to be very careful which cable one uses.

The most straightforward and foolproof solution is to get a Resmed DC-12 converter, which will allow you to use any DC power source between (nominally) 12 and 24 Volts DC with your S8 Autoset II.Gambian3 wrote:I am trying to find a Battery Connection Cable for my ResMed 8, which I have been supplied with by my Sleep Clinic to use when travelling abroad. In support of Bill, be aware that the S8 (to the best of my knowledge (& testing)), uses reverse pin polarity to most other brands. So, Bill's advice is without doubt the best to follow unless you are electronically minded & willing to make up a special cable.

(note I cut the cable & reversed the cigarette lighter 12vdc supply wire to match the special polarity of the S8)
