Completed Sleep Study-Next Steps

Post by rnrbno » Tue Jul 14, 2009 8:28 am

Hi Everybody,

Completed my sleep study last night/this morning. I'm happy because it was a typical night for me, so we should have a good idea what's going on. The tech came in twice to wake me to get me to try and sleep on my back, which I never do. Hopefully they got the reading they wanted.

The tech wouldn't say what she saw, told me the doc would need to interpet the findings. I have a follow up with him in two weeks.

They also said that I would get a copy of the results in about 7 days, and someone would be contacting me about any equipment I may need.

Does this sound right? Would that happen prior to my meeting with the doctor?

sounds OK but I often sleep on my side during studies

you often need to chase after sleep disorder professionals, they are sometimes lazy and disorganised with no senes of urgency, but you may be lucky, if not, try to see them rather than phoning

hopefully someone will take time to select a mask that suits you, they often come in a range of sizes and the face

find out where they're sending the script... and get them to tell you what you're getting before you accept it. Make SURE that you're getting a fully data capable machine.
