Pur Sleep

Post by mcejsul » Sun Jul 12, 2009 5:58 am

hello all,
I have seen a few threads on this product, one even mentioning getting free samples.
Curious as to how many use or have trued these products and what your experience was?
Also, how do you ge the free samples?

Last night was my third night with the machine and first night I did not remove the Mask, Seem to feel a little better. Going tomorrow to try to exchange my ResStay Plus M Series for a full data machine so I can monitor my progress myself.

Thanks to all.

Here's the link to Bret's website for PurSleep:
http://www.pur-sleep.com/
Just email him using the contact link there, to ask if he is still sending out free samples. I really love using these scents, and I am one who finds perfumes and scents in general to be pretty obnoxious. Go figure.

mcejsul, Good for you on your progress. Go to your DME tomorrow with determination that your Plus machine will be exchanged because your effective therapy completely depends on it. I had my doc write a script for an exchange from a straight CPAP to an APAP in the first month, so there would be less hassle---but it was still not a pleasant interaction with the DME. And in the end, I returned that machine to the DME and bought one out of pocket from cpap.com, in order to be rid of the unending insurance/DME shenanigans. You may have to keep the humidifier tank, so be careful to ask about that so the sneaks don't charge you for the new tank.

Edit: Should have mentioned that the exchange usually has to be done within the first 30 days.

I too have been using the pur sleep drops since they came out.
Take a look around the site for other helpful items.
I am particularly pleased with the hose handling system (keeps the hose from pulling on the mask) and the buckwheat hull pillow (keeps the head supported so the pillow doesn't push up on the mask when side sleeping).
Best of luck in your therapy and don't let the hassles get you down.

Pay particular attention to any leaks around the mask, through your mouth, etc.

Regards,
TerryB

PLR66,
Thanks for the reply. I just picked up my CPAP (actually think it is a BiPAP) on Tuesday. So I am definitely inside the 30 day window. Interesting about calling my doctor. I may call my doctor (Connecticut Sleep Center in Fairfield) in the morning first before I call the company I got it from. The doctors office did express a little concern about the company I had to deal with (Apria health) due to my insurance.
Hopefully it will not be a pain.
Any idea what the quickest way to get best Card reader and software to get?

Thanks.
This site is so GREAT!!

Make sure that the machine that you have in your profile is correct.

If it is, then the software isn't worth the purchase... actually the machine should be traded in for a fully data capable machine... at least a M-series Pro... but anything that is an M-series and doesn't have the word Plus in it will be fully data capable and you can pick up Encore Viewer from cpap.com... make sure that you get a DT3500 card reader as well.

mcejsul, if your machine is what you show in your profile (by the way, choosing text is much more effective than the icons in your profile)--then you do not have a bipap. Your machine is a C-flex Plus. As already stated, the "Plus" means you get nothing to track your therapy other than to prove that you used it, and for how many hours. I think most of us would recommend that you get the most bang for your buck by requesting a Rx from your doc for a Remstar Pro M Series Auto CPAP with A-flex . This will give you choices on comfort settings, and is fully data-capable so you can study what's happening and make appropriate adjustments to your therapy. The software & reader are just a necessary expense. I've not shopped around for a long time for the software, but cpap.com is a great place, and will match price. Start here: https://www.cpap.com/cpap-machine/remst ... -flex.html and look at options for other stuff you may want to order at the same time.

Hi,
I have tried the Pur Sleep product but found that it was not effective for me. The scent was
very strong (just one drop on the pad) and it kept me awake instead of helping me sleep. I
have been told that my sense of smell is very keen, which probably was the problem of it being
of any help to me. I packaged everything up in a zip lock bag put it into my enclosed night stand
and still could smell it and had to remove it from my bedroom entirely. I know from reading
reports of other cpap users that it works for them. It just wasn't the thing for me.

Thanks for the advice, I do know that I need a different machine. That is why I am calling my doctor tomorrow. Hoping to just change the machine and have it fit into my humidifier.

The Pur Sleep works great for me. I use "peace" and find that it's very relaxing.
I especially appreciate it when traveling. A couple of drops, and I can no longer smell the musty hotel room, etc. Smells like home and puts me right to sleep.

I have used Pur-sleep for the last 2 years. Clear is my favorite flavor. My hubby is on a Bi-Pap, his favorite is Spice.

I also like the combos of Clear and Creme, or Deep and Comfort.

My brother and his wife use it too, I think they both use Peace. We are 4 totally satisfied customers here.

I've been using the Pur-Sleep oils for nearly the entire time I've been doing xPAP - 2+ years.
I find that the fragrances help in relaxing a bit and more importantly, to me, it eliminates that plastic smell you get from the machine.
In fact I just ordered another supply of my favorite 4 - Peace, Clear, Spice and Fresh.....
I also use the PAPCap though I don't need the "chinstrap" portion. It helps save my hair when I use the headrest mask (though I've switched to the Activa lately). Using the velcro solution with the PAPCap you can also use it as your headgear, so.....

Check out the website and all the different products Bret's got. I'm presently looking into the pillow!!!

Good luck and welcome aboard
cheers
goose
