What will SmartLink data tell me?
What will SmartLink data tell me?
I'm considering buying the software and module for my machine (Intellipapa Auto thingy). I have been using the SmartCode since I got it.
If I got the software, would I get considerably more information? I want the little graphs that go up and down showing what time your apneas and hypos occurred and what times the pressure went up and all that stuff. If this particular software doesn't go into all that detail, I'm not sure if I want to bother with paying for it.
Thanks,
Cassandra

Re: What will SmartLink data tell me?
The up and down graphs on the Smartlink 1.63 are very very rough. I couldn't get any useful data from them.
The Y scale for the pressure is bizzare, the number on all reports hardly legible.
If your therapy is going well, and you're just curious, I suggest you wait and see if they come up with something better.

Re: What will SmartLink data tell me?
Smartlink's data display is not as polished as some of the other software, but it is still very useful. I'll have to post a few pages from my output when I have a moment.

Re: What will SmartLink data tell me?
Here is a link to the sell sheet for the software on DeVilbiss' site, which has sample output on page 2: http://www.devilbisshealthcare.com/medi ... mLocale=ca
Like timbalionguy, I also find the software extremely useful. With respect to the non-linear pressure scale on the nightly reports that Ozij calls "bizarre", I believe DeVilbiss is just trying to make best use of the limited space on a sheet of paper by showing more detail in the pressure range where most people have events.

Re: What will SmartLink data tell me?
El Pap, do the numbers in your reports read as clearly as the ones on the borchure?
When you have an event, can you pinpoint when it happened?
I'm very interested to how timbalionguy and El Pap found the reports helpful -- I assume a more detailed description of how you two used the data would help Cass as well.

Yes, maily just curious. But perhaps not $150 curious.
I appreciate everyone's input. Trying to get the link to load. My computer is being ornery this morning. I would love to read anything you would care to share about how your data is helpful to you.

Re: What will SmartLink data tell me?
On my nightly report, if I have a good night where my 90% percentile is the same as my minimum pressure, the 90% value prints right on top of the words "lower limit". (Sloppy programming). Other than that, and the fact that I have a heck of a lot fewer events than the sample, they look pretty much as clear.ozij wrote:El Pap, do the numbers in your reports read as clearly as the ones on the borchure?
Not to the minute, but probably to a 10 minute block of time, which is close enough. For example, I may wake up angry and upset from a nightmare, note the time on my clock, and then check the next day to see if I was having events during the dream. (Which, by the way, I usually am. Not sure if the nightmare caused the events, or if the events cause the nightmare)When you have an event, can you pinpoint when it happened?
In pretty much the same way as anybody uses efficacy data, I suspect. To give just one example: If I have leaks, I try to correlate the time they were bad to a time when I was fidgeting with leaking nasal pillows or perhaps woke with a dry sore throat - or if they were during a time when the machine boosted the pressure.I'm very interested to how timbalionguy and El Pap found the reports helpful -- I assume a more detailed description of how you two used the data would help Cass as well.

Re: What will SmartLink data tell me?
Thank you, El Pap. That is indeed very helpful.
If I decide to buy the module and software, it will be to use it for the same things you mentioned. I'm sleeping much better, but I am still roused awake at least a couple of times on most nights. Sometimes for getting dripped on, but that's another story.
I would like to know what's going on right before I wake up.
And my husband told me a couple of nights ago that he woke up when my machine started puffing at me. He said the machine would go, "pffff pffff" (I assume an increase in pressure) and I would wiggle a little bit, then it would go "pffff pffff" again and I would wiggle some more. Then, it settled back down. I would like to investigate events like that.

I've never heard of "SmartLink", but I must admit I DO like the name.

Here are a couple of charts from right after I got my APAP. This was the early stages of a rather severe "broncitis" attack. This manifests on the chart as snores (coughs). Did not get it under control until about 2 weeks ago with asthma meds.

bonjour, can you please check which version software, and what your screen resolution is? I couldn't get those number legible, on two different computers.
Than you,

Re: What will SmartLink data tell me?
I guess I wasn't clear enough, bonjour. I can't get my copy of smartlink to show me the numbers as clearly as yours does for you. And that's on two different computers.
So I was wondering if it's a Smartlink version problem, or a screen resolution problem. I can see your's just fine!
