I'm confused. What are you worried about?
Veni, vidi, Velcro. I came, I saw, I stuck around.

Dx 11/07: AHI 107, central apnea, Cheyne Stokes respiration, moderate-severe O2 desats. (Simple OSA would be too easy. ;))

PR S1 ASV 950, DreamWear mask, F&P 150 humidifier, O2 @ 2L.

These are VERY GOOD NUMBERS.

I know folks on this forum who would KILL for such good numbers.

You are doing GOOD. Please don't worry. I'm sorry no one there reading your data could tell you that.

For reference, the "Magic Number" is 5.0 AHI. If you are below that number, MOST doctors will tell you you're fine. Most of us here try to stay below 3. Some of us are super geeks and work for Zero. I've decided I'm really happy with under 2.

Huggers,
Barbara

I currently have a stash of Nasal Aire II cannulas in Small or Extra Small. Please PM me if you would like them. I'm interested in bartering for something strange and wonderful that I don't currently own. Or a Large size NAII cannula. :)

Eh.... (shrugs)

Keep working on your variables - humidity, mask, chinstrap, etc. I don't worry about that length of time, but I'm not your doctor, either.

Best ask your doc if he/she thinks that number is out of line.

Good luck!
Barbara

That's an average time in apnea per day, not the length of your average apnea. So you're experiencing apnea for 28 seconds over the whole night. An apnea, by definition, lasts more than 10 seconds, so that equals less than 3 per night. (AHI is reported as an average of apnea and hypopnea events per hour.) I wouldn't be worried, personally, but ask your doctor if you're concerned about it.

And, even if you had an apnea or two in any given night that lasted for 28 seconds, that's not all that bad, either. I've had some that lasted that long and longer.
