Dr. Sue

Post by Sleepless on LI » Tue Aug 23, 2005 8:53 pm

What a surprise. I mailed my mold back to Dr. Sue Friday and just now received an email from him personally letting me know that it was mailed to me today, that the impression was great and explaining my individual condition with his comments on what may happen once I receive it.
What a pleasure to deal with someone like this. Now I just have to hope this works. He said I was a heavy mouth breather, according to what he saw in my impression (didn't think I did impressions) and that heavy mouth breathers usually benefit the most from this device.
So I am excited now and looking forward to perhaps not having to tape my mouth shut anymore at night.
Anybody else have any news upon receiving their devices yet?

Lori,

Sometimes it can be frightening what clever people can see in small parts of our bodies.

I have sort of heard of (please give me some poetic license here ) iridology, palmology, footology, phrenology, earology, stoolology, urology, nailology, hairology, etc: etc: etc:

But now we have toothology where our expert dentist will deign to tell us what we did as babies & how we live today & where we are headed

I sent my own specimen back to him on Monday so am not really sure I now want to hear his prognosis or any analysis.

LOL

I sent my "impressions" on the 17th of this month and haven't heard a thing. Must be a mailing thing where some get there before others.

Okay, DSM, shall we call it "chopperology" or "oralology" or something a bit more medical sounding?

fnorette, I would email them or call them and find out if they did receive it, just to be safe, if you don't hear from them soon. Mine was mailed out on the afternoon of the 19th, Friday, and I heard back already.

I am jealous! I sent my kit back the very next day after receiving it on the 15th of August and have not heard anything yet. I keep checking e-mails and snail mail hoping to get a treat; hopefully there is no problem with the impression. Very interested to hear how it works for Sleepless on LI and others. Really hoping to lose the tape and chinstrap!-Lee.

SleepLess - thanks for the suggestion to email the kindly doctor. His response was that it is winging its way to California and (hopefully) will be here in a day or so ! Do you suppose our Cpaptalk forum may be overloading him?

I'm glad you got some good news about your estimated date of arrival, fnorette. Do you think Dr. Sue's bank account will mind if our site is overloading him? If it does, I'll certainly be happy to help him out there...he must be happier than happy that he is getting so much extra business from us. And if things go as well for the rest of us as they did for Kermit, he will probably get a lot more business when we post our reviews, too. Let's hope for all our sakes he does .

By the way, has anybody heard from Kermit since he's been using the device now for a few weeks? Hope it's still as well liked as it was when it first arrived.

LOL!!! I have the hiccups right now and laughed out loud at that line and what came out of my mouth was even more hysterical. I hate the hiccups!!! (but that was pretty funny).

Dr. Sue emailed me today to say that my mouthpiece was shipped and that I should be receiving it in a few days! I'm soooooo excited! The turnaround on this product was one week! If it works for me, I will certainly be a returning customer!

Tried my new Nose Breathe appliance last night! Spent a lot of time drooling and puffing out through my mouth. My tongue was not all that comfortable and teeth were a little sensitive this morning, but will keep trying to adjust.

My first reacion was, "Oh, no!" Sounds like that is going to happen to me, too. My reason for not using the DIY mouthpiece was too much saliva production from having something in my mouth. Now tell me you have to keep your lips separated with this, too?

Dr. Sue, in his email to me, said to let them know if certain things may need adjusting and he will tell me how to do it. Did he write the same thing to you? Maybe it's a form that they automatically send out when you have your product sent.

By the way, when did you get word that he sent yours out? I got my info on Tueday, the 23rd, that it was sent that day. How long did it take for you to receive it from the time they said they sent it? I was hoping to get it today. And I can't believe you had mouth breathing with it in. You know they offer a money-back guarantee if it doesn't work. But I would let them know of the problems you had. Maybe it needs adjusting of some sort.
