And I could NOT believe how ALERT AND AWAKE I felt today!!!!!!!!! I woke up only twice during the night--both times because I obviously moved and pulled the tube off the mask. I'll need to find the "wisdom" info about the hook and the scrunchie! The second time was ~5am. I had two alarm clocks set for 7am and 7:30am for an endocrinologist's appointment at 10:45. I slept thru both alarm clocks and woke up when my phone rang at noon!! I have not slept that long and that soundly in I don't know how long! Also, my covers were all smooth and "normal" and I had a head/neckache indicating I had not moved much---THAT is a HUGE change! The fun part was spending the rest of the day feeling awake and alert and with my eyes wide open---no head bounce, no eye droop, no yawning, NOTHING!!! It has been FABulous!! And it is on only DAY#ONE!!!!!!!! I can hardly wait to go to bed tonight so I can get up in the morning and see how I feel!
Weird things---I dreamed last night---a LOT. lol I don't remember doing that in a long time! A lot of very detailed dreams have been coming back to me all day long. Very funny!
One question I have: the last week or so, I have felt very mildly dizzy off and on. Not nearly enough to interfere with life, just enough to notice. I figured it was due to low 02 from the apnea, etc. Today, after the BIPAP, I felt MORE dizzy, altho still not enough to interfere with life at all. Is it the increase in oxygen levels in my system now? Has anyone else had this happen? Also, is it a bad thing to breath thru my nose in a full face mask?
Last night was first on BIPAP . . .

Re: Last night was first on BIPAP . . .
Congratulations and welcome.
Since you were dizzy prior to starting on the machine I would suspect a little inner ear disturbance. If this persists I would certainly bring it to your doctors attention. The pressures can make inner ear problems worse because of the tiny passageways that connect from the nose to the inner ear. Persistent dizziness is not normal and indicates something is going on.
Yes, it is quite acceptable to breath through the nose with a full face mask. Doesn't hurt a thing.
