AHI increase

Post by Roberta » Tue Jun 09, 2009 7:48 am

This may have been covered but hen I put AHI into search there's lots of pages.
My question is why would my AHI go from 5 to 10? Also when I checked this morning it said I've had only 6 sessions in the last 7 days and although I've been tempted to take a night off I haven't.

Change in humidifier settings? Change in room temp or humidity? Change in life circumstances causing stress? Change in meds or dosages? Restless night or normal sleep? Change in bedtime?

Roberta are you using the software or just information on the LCD screen? I found that sometimes the info on the LCD screen takes a while to show up with the changes. No explanation other than it just sometimes doesn't record for 3 or 4 hours after I turn machine off. Also there seems to be rare occasions where data simply goes poof and never shows up even on the software graphs. I lost 2 1/2 hours during the middle of the night and I didn't turn machine off or even get up to pee. Just a fluke.

WOW, Ladybug. CHANGE seems to be the operative word.
One week ago when AHI was at 5+ I woke up with a wet face so moved the setting on humidifier from 2 to 1. I changed it back to 2 last night.
I evidently have a raging case of sciatica which is making mega discomfort in my hip.
I've been reducing my Requip because the CPAP treatment seems to be helping my RLS.
We'll see what my doctor says when he reads my card next week.
I'm going to sleep clinic tomorrow and I'm going to ask her to shorten my ramp time from 30 minutes to 10 or 15. That may help too because everytime I get up to pee I lose 30 minutes at the higher setting.

I don't use software. I check the screen everyday just to see what's happening.
