Sinus surgery?

Post by cflame1 » Tue Jun 02, 2009 10:50 pm

So... I've been told that I have a deviated septum (right side), plus one other problem on the left side... and then something about turbinates, etc.

Symptoms... multiple sinus infections, sinus headaches, drainage, etc. Complications, TMJ and sleep apnea

Offered 2 choices... chemical cautery... reverseable, 80 percent success rate. Second choice... surgery... recovery time 3 days off work and off bipap.

Will somebody offer an opinion that's had the surgery? Is it worth the effort?

Hi

It depends what your nose aliment is.........if it's structural you can have it shaved inside. For me my turbinates were so stuffed to the point it obstructed my breathing, they had operate on my nose. I lost my sense of smell. But I can breath properly for the 1st time in my life. Now on cpap I can breath nicely without having my eye balls popping out.
