First Try on nasal pillows

Post by Blue Snuffle nose » Mon Jun 01, 2009 12:53 am

Hello People,

Today I just received my new head piece, I trying nasal pillows now as I kept having problems with normal nasal mask. As it kept breaking where the connection was, and once broken that render the mask useless, even if the gel and cushion is serviceable. Went thru 3 mask and eventually I got fed up and decided to see if I had anymore luck with nasal pillows.

I had nap using the nasal pillows and I found putting it more challenge the the nasal mask, I eventually got the idea and stuck the pillows up my nose and adjusted to what I need it to be. So far it feels good, no air leaks yet......

I hope you didn't really mean 'up your nose'! The pillows should just rest against the nares. If the nares get tender some AYR gel will usually sooth until the nares toughen up a bit.

as best I understand it, the nasal pillows stay outside the nostrils and form a seal...
Thats what I use. Been on em for a little over 2 weeks and work way better for me...
the nose mask left cuts on my nose that are still healing

What is the name of your mask? That will tell us if you have nasal pillows or prongs. Nasal pillows are intended to seal the nostrils from the outside. (Swift LT for Her, Optilife) Nasal prongs go up into your nose (kind of like oxygen at the hospital) but larger, and seal them from the inside. (Nasal Aire II)

My new comfort gel mask broke tabs off at the connection point for the 'ball'.
The supplier sold me another over priced one for 10% off. So I have found this place for supplies now.

I repaired the mask by drilling holes in the part of the tab still attached to the outside of the mask,
and threading string thru to hold the connector.

Use of colored string can denote your gang affiliation.

Hello people

The brand of nasal pillows is "Swift" I find them quite comfortable......As I often move a lot while sleeping. I find them comfortable and not restricting.
