Help! Suggestions for alternative to Swift LT please?

Post by Wrenna » Thu May 28, 2009 6:50 pm

I'm looking for an alternative to the Swift LT.

I prefer it over the Swift II as the pillows seal better in my nose and I can sleep on either side equally well. However I'm really tired of the way water condenses in the mask and then pours down my nostril and into my throat when I change positions. I tend to change position several times during the night, sleeping on my right side, back, and left side. But everytime I do, I wake up because of the dratted condensation. Even with no humidity, no water in the tank, a cover on the hose, and that hook thingy to raise my hose above my head I still get significant condensation!! (is there really that much moisture in our breath alone?)
I've also tried the comfortgel mask but it's far too noisy.

Does anyone have any suggestions??

The Aussie heated hose resolved the problem for me.

What completely resolved that for me was to forget about routing the mask hose up over the top of my head. Did that over-the-head thing for one night way back, and like you, got drenched with rainout. Allowing the hose to simply hang down, with all the hose under the covers has been effective for 9 months with not a drop of rainout ever. (I've used HH 1-2 and now passive humidity).

I get no condensation in mine. I don't turn on the humidifier, but I do keep water in the humidifier and use it passover style. Is your bedroom really cold?

I'm using the Swift LT for Her, and have no problems with rainout.....humidifer is set at 1, hose is double insulated, first using the resmed cover then heavy knit knee socks with the foot cut out taped together to form a long hose....since double insulating, have had no rainout even in fairly cool bedroom.
