Face Funk

Post by Portageegal » Wed May 27, 2009 4:48 pm

I woke up this a.m. with red spots on my mask line. One of the bigger ones turned into a blister and is now all weepy. I put an anti-bacterial on it, but it still is gross. I have a relatively new gasket on my mask, but it hadn't bothered me until last night. I am going to give it a good washing and hope I can stand the mask on tonight. Wish me luck.

Good Luck Portageegal. Let us know if you find out why you had a sudden reaction. Maybe we can learn from your experience.

You might want to soak the mask in a 1:3 vinegar and water solution for 5-10 minutes. It will help cut any soap residues and left over oils left on the mask. Of course rinse very well after soaking.

My mask never gets near my skin- I use a piece of fine knit cotton between me and my mask. Ha ven't had a problem since day one.

Thanks. I was advised to not use the mask last night, but I am so used to it I had to. My face is much better today. I washed and rinsed the mask thouroghly yesterday. I hope I have no more problems.

1. Soak any new supplies (mask and tubing) in either of these solutions for 90 minutes before ever using to clean the plastic of the chemical residue left from the manufacturing process): warm water with mild soap or white vinegar and water.

2. Always wash your face before bed

3. Keep your mask cushion and parts clean

4. If all else fails try the various cotton pads available on the market.
