CRAZY NUMBERS!!!
I am new to CPAP, I was diagnosed a couple of weeks ago with numbers like AHI=134. Started on a ResMed S8 Auto set at 9 and have been using every night for the past week with numbers like AI= .5 and HI=12 so AHI=12.5 to 14. I work shift work and last night was my first time using after night shift and my numbers jumped to AHI=78. The only good thing last night was my leak rate was 0. I am supposed to send in Smartcard at the end of the week, but my Doctor will not know I when I started night shift. Is it possible I will need different settings for when I work days or nights?? This is frustrating!!!
Re: CRAZY NUMBERS!!!
That's a big difference in AHI from night to night (day). So you're using your auto machine in straight cpap mode? Have you tried setting it in a range starting at maybe 8 and see how high it goes? Maybe 9 is enough only for your best case scenario. Any chance the 2nd night you slept on your back more? Position makes a difference for some users. A couple weeks on auto would give you a better picture of an set pressure if you choos to go back to that.
