PLMD question

Post by yawn » Sun Aug 14, 2005 8:36 pm

I've been reading discussions where people talk about PLMD and RLS. When I had my 1st study, they recorded 145 limb movements....is that bad? During my titration study, they recorded 45 limb movements...is that good? Could this explain why I'm still so tired?

thanks!
Amy

Hi Amy,

I think they are only bad if they wake you up! Your sleep study should have that info. From what I understand, much of the time they go away after adequate Cpap treatment. I already had pretty severe RLS which kept me awake for hours, so I was placed on Mirapex for that, plus the PLM.

Hi So Tired,
I don't think the movements wake me up. I move my legs around a lot even during the day time...kind of like a twitch. When I lay down in bed, I tend to rub my feet along the sheets....but if I'm really tired, I don't move them at all. So, I don't think my movements are a problem but I thought I would ask the experts (yes, you)
I hope you sleep well tonight! I'm going to hit the pillow very soon.

Amy-
I didn't remember waking up due to limb movements, either. But, after about 2 months on APAP I was still tired and started on Mirapex for the PLMD. It has made a big difference! Now if we could all just get healthy.

By the way, the kids had fevers, but never any pox. Thank God! Today my 6 year-old (who gets frequent ear infections) has an earache that I think is swimmer's ear. Our family practitioner is getting tired of us by now, I'm sure. But, the good news is I think we are rid of the yellow jackets and my 2 1/2 year old, who is allergic to bee stings, never got stung! Life is getting better.
