Thanks for posting this. I have been desperately trying to convince my mom to get tested as I suspect I inherited this from the freight train snorer of a mother of mine.

Her liver enzymes are up. She is convinced it's her meds for epilepsy which she has been on for 40 years. I'm not so convinced. I sent it along to her.
These beautiful kids in my avi are my motivation for getting healthy and staying compliant. Need to be around a long time. See my new blog at http://creativekidscakeslife.blogspot.com/ Baking Blog http://feedingtheravenoushorde.blogspot.com

My position is that, untreated, sleep apnea DOES (not may) increase the risk of ANY Disease.

I've been diagnosed with Sleep Apnea as of January 2009. Had gastritis for a couple of weeks two years ago, and a CT scan showed a fatty liver. Was told it was not significant, do not worry. Been having some more GI issues in last month, mentioned it to my GYN when I saw her. She ordered another CT, said to be looking for "anything from a hiatal hernia to ovarian cancer". Well, now: got my results back Friday, nurse said over the phone "your CT was normal". Being a nurse, I asked for a copy of the results. When I picked the summary up, it said I had a cirrhotic liver!! WTF!! I got in touch with my GI doc's partner while at work today, he was concerned enough to take my info and tell me he will tell my doc personally when gets back to the office and they will contact me. Scared to death! And trying not to be.

I was recently diagnosed about 4 weeks ago with sleep apnea. Makes me wonder now when the subject is about how sleep apnea may increase risk of liver disease, I was diagnosed 2 1/2 years ago with primary biliary cirrhosis which they say is autoimmune.

Please post any later results of your liver function testing. A very good friend of mine recently was diagnosed with the same liver dsyfunction. I don't think she has ever been tested for osa, but she is overweight. It might be something she needs to follow up on.

Non-alcohol fatty liver disease is a symptom of metabolic syndrome (insulin resistance and precurser to diabetes) which is associated with excess adipose fat and OSA.
President-pretender, J. Biden, said "the DNC has built the largest voter fraud organization in US history". Too bad they didn’t build the smartest voter fraud organization and got caught.
