I don't know if many of you have seen this but it really tells the story about sleep apnea.

I had a friend who snored like that. You could hear her from one end of the house to the other. Unfortunately, she passed away in 1994... and it never occurred to any of her doctors that she might have apnea.

I couldn't watch it all the way through. It made me out of breath, and I could feel the panic sympathetically!

I couldn't stand to watch it either...barely made it a few seconds...when you know what it means when someone is like that, it hurts to see and hear it.

I believe I am as severe as he is when I do not use my CPAP. The long pauses in between breath are hard to watch, I quit watching after about 3 minutes. At least the video makes some viewers aware who do not know what OSA is.

I had trouble watching too. I remember being afraid to go to sleep most nights before cpap.

I first watched that when I was diagnosed, 6 months ago. Had to stop half way through, then I resolved to watch it all in one go. Very hard to watch. It's the best clip I've seen on youtube - out of dozens I have seen.

Apparently his girlfriend took the video to make him get a sleep study. It worked, and they now live happily ever after.

I have about as many apneas (without CPAP) as he does. Until I got my study results I never knew I stopped breathing while asleep.

I too had a hard time watching the video and felt out of breath!! And to think...that is how I used to sleep. That video really drives home the seriousness of this condition.

That poor man is sleeping (if you can call it that) on his side! Can you imagine how much worse it would be if he slept on his back? Yikes! I wanted to slap a mask on him.

I didn't know I had it either really. I don't snore so there was no sound comparison for my wife. The only thing that prompted me to research was 1) the way I was feeling every day, and 2) the handful of times in the last few years I woke up bolting out of bed with my heart racing.

thanks kenny, the papcap is working out the last 3 nights i've had 0.00 leaks and 0.0 AIs just 3 or 4 for the HIs.
Only downside is the chin strap has to be so tight it leaves sore marks under my chin and sometime makes my jaw ache a bit in the morning. I might look into making some padding for the under the chin part.
