I think I can talk about this now...
I think I can talk about this now...
A week ago tonight, i went to bed as normal. I put on my mask, attached the hose, snuggled into bed and turned out the light. I rolled onto my stomach to get into my favorite sleeping position. For a split second, I felt like something had pushed up into my nose. Knowing I'd NEVER get to sleep if I didn't check, i turned the light on, took off my mask and blew my nose. And there it was. This big, black ANT!!!!!!!!!!!!! I totally freaked out!! I hate bugs to begin with, they give me a serious case of the willies. I couldn't get myself to put that mask back on that night, so for the first time since being on cpap (a month and a half), I slept without it. There was no way I was able to put that mask back on that night. The next day, I thoroughly cleaned the machine and mask (which is my normal Saturday routine anyway). And every night I take my flashlight and check out the inside of my machine, the hose, and the mask. Lordy, I'm gonna need therapy...............

I'm sorry but that has to be one of the best ones yet.

I will make sure to shake everything from now on. There are lots of ants here in the spring. But since I have a loft bed they don't usually make it this high up metal legs.

Do I get a prize for that? An ant trap, perhaps??N6CRV wrote:I'm sorry but that has to be one of the best ones yet.

That'll certainly make folks think twice when hosing up tonight! There's been similar discussions on here a couple years ago. For a while I was sliding a cut off piece of stocking leg over my mask when I took it off. Could still air out but no critters could get in.
Around that time we here were on a roll with adapting the lyrics of well known songs to our purposes. Here's the one I contributed, to the tune of Itsy Bitsy Spider...
The itsy bitsy spider crawled up the cpap hose
On came the air and blew it up her nose
Off came the mask and she blew the spider out
And the itsy bitsy spider was no longer in her snout
Yep, gonna revisit that stocking cover too.

Oh dear. I'm definitely going out to buy a pair of stockings tomorrow. Unless my nerve breaks and I go do it tonight. I wonder if the little knee high stockings (cheap) would work or whether they are too small to fit over the mask.
