A big Thank You & Short Progress Report

Post by LouC » Fri May 01, 2009 12:24 pm

I have just finished 35 radiation treatments of my neck for an aggressive thyroid cancer. Despite a swath of external burns (think pork loin), my Apap and Swift 2 have enabled me to keep up with sleep.

Due to swelling, my pressures have adjusted over time, with the F&P humidifier I have been relatively comfortable, despite our excessively dry AZ climate. In 2-3 weeks I hope to be some what close to a normal human being.

The advice here was first rate & timely. I eventually got the gear I needed, it works, and a lot of thanks goes to you all for timely responses, sanguine advice, and good karma.

Thanks for the update and congratulations on gettting those 35 radiations treatment behind you. I don't know much about "aggressive" thyroid cancer. When I worked in the Pathology department of a local hospital, one day the doctor was doing a frozen section on a thyroid mass and sent word to the surgeon it was malignant, and commented under his breath that it was their lucky day. I thought he was being sarcastic, but wasn't sure, so I asked. He said he was serious, because if you have to get a cancer diagnosis, the thyroid is one of the better places to get it. Bet you weren't feeling that through your treatments!

Hoping things just get better and better from here.

Kathy
