Mask Help

Post by racefan » Sun Apr 26, 2009 8:53 am

I'm using a nasal mask now & I'm getting a little tired of having sore nares at times.I'm a side & stomach sleeper, anyone have any input on what masks they are using for side & stomach(mostly side sleeping)?
Why do black tires make white smoke?

check out the swift LT, i can sleep on my back, or my side, and change positions without having to mess with adjusting my mask.

Hi, racefan.

I don't sleep on my stomach, but I find my Swift LT is easy to wear when on my side. The interface is so small, it doesn't encounter my pillow. I used the Swift II previously, but it's much wider than the LT and, consequently, was more of a problem when side-sleeping. I've never used the Breeze, so I can't make any suggestions on that one. getting and using the lanolin (Lansinoh) cream will really help with sore nares and make sure you have the correct size nasal pillows. I use the cream every night

How about trying a Dreamseal for your Breeze? Maybe the nasal pillows aren't your best option. You only need a different assembly to fit into your existing headgear, although it is just a tad more for a whole new Breeze.

I really loved the Dreamseal, as it wasn't big like other nasal masks. However, in my typical fashion, if I love the mask there is a problem. In this case, it was contact dermatitis (sensitivity, even an allergy?) from the silicone in the Dreamseal. I have had problems with some of the silicone nose pads for my eyeglasses, too.

This makes me wonder if the silicone in the Breeze nasal pillows may be bothering you, too? There are different formulations of silicones, even within manufacturers, so another might be better for you.
