Something strange need help
Last night or rather early this morning, my CPAP woke me up. I felt and the machine was acting like I was breathing room air.
I have never had this happen before.
I am afraid to use it tonight.
Any advice?

Severeena...maybe it is because you are getting used to having cpap. When I first started it I was aware of it going when I woke up but now after two months when I wake up it feels like it isn't even going, but it is...it's just that I am so used to how it feels now and it feels normal to me....

I noticed my wedding dress was directly in back of the machine and when I moved it, the back of the CPAP machine was extremely warm.
I may have over heated my S7 and it cooled off. It should be ok tonight.
Keep fingers cross I didn't burn it up.

Where is the washable filter located?
I hate to get replacement pieces from a DME that refuses to get my mask for me.
How can I terminate this contract and go with someone that can fullfil all my needs?
I hate this, I am now do for a replacement mask and the purchasing department refuses to get my HR in.
Can anyone help me with this also?

Sev,
The washable filter is in the back of the machine. It looks like, and maybe is, the filter you find in your window AC. You take it out, wash it out and let it air dry and replace it. There is also a white non-washable filter in my Remstar which the washable one covers. If that looks warn and dirty, you have to replace it, unfortunately.
As far as disliking your DME, if it's under insurance, you usually have to deal with the place they deal with, as far as I know. If you did this on your own, I am totally unsure how you would break a contract with them. Maybe talking to someone in authority and voicing your complaints in the DME will get you either better service or out of your contract. There is no reason, considering what we are dealing with to begin with, that you should not get the correct service from your DME. We rely on them to do right by us and they should.

DME trouble

If your insurance company paid for everything, let the insurance company know the trouble you are having. They have the big guns to get the DME to live up to their end of the bargain. You may ask them if they will reimburse you for the new mask if you buy it from a different vendor or website. Some will, some won't.
As for filters - you can find them relatively inexpensively on various websites. I have purchased from thecpapshop.com and I have seen good comments posted about cpap.com.

I like Merlin's suggestion:
Another one that might get the DME's attention is your doctor. Perhaps a call to your doctor's office is in order. You wouldn't necessarily need to even talk to the doctor himself. A nurse in his office might be able to make a "Hey, y'all, we've got a little problem..." phone call to the DME resulting in quicker responses to your needs. If your insurance company paid for everything, let the insurance company know the trouble you are having. My DME is ripping Medicare off.
Yes Medicare is renting the machine for me.
My doctor went with these people because of problems with the one I had to get my HR from.
Now my three months is up, and I am not sure if Medicare will pay for a HR for me.
