battery and integrated humidifier

Post by nobody » Sat Apr 25, 2009 8:50 am

This is a follow-up to my post here:

Last night we had some severe weather so I used my battery to power my machine. I went back to sleep and woke up later with a very dry throat. So I reached over and turned on the humidifier on setting of 1 and went back to sleep. I woke up a bit later and saw the humidifier light was blinking. Does anyone know what that means? I turned it off then later turned it on again and it wasn't blinking, but by that time I was ready to get up anyway.

I'm pretty sure a blinking light on the humidifier indicates that it's not heating the water. As I understand it, most batteries will supply power to the xPAP but not the heated humidifier.

If someone else knows better, please correct me.
Veni, vidi, Velcro. I came, I saw, I stuck around.

In the thread in that link I provided, others claimed they were able to run an integrated humidifier with a battery. It's possible that my battery is not large enough to run it, though.

That's why I said most batteries won't heat the humidifier. I have one that does heat it; it just means I get less usage out of a full charge if I heat the water than if I don't. But being here in Aridzona, I can use all the heated humidification I can get.

Hi, AuntieNae.

The one I purchased was from batterygeek.com (model number C-222). But I believe they went out of business, so it's no longer available (which is unfortunate, because it works well, is compact, and is very portable). It only weighs about 5 lbs.

Sorry.

Maybe you could find one on CraigsList or eBay?
