Water Leakage from Mask?

Post by TammieC » Tue Apr 21, 2009 10:17 am

Hello, I am totally new to using CPAP machines, with that being said the last week or so I've been having problems with water leaking out of the mask itself, or just plain inhaling water up my nose all night. I have tried to turn down the humidifier and lowered the amount of distilled water I've been putting in the tank although it was never even near the full mark. Was wondering if there were any suggestions to prevent further water inhalations and leakage all over my shirt and bed. Ty for your time.

The condition is known as "rain out" and it's a frequent topic of discussion. Besides turning down the humidifier, many find it helpful to cover the hose with a fleece hose cover, such as the SnuggleHose, or the one that PadACheek sells. Even more effective is the "Aussie heated hose", a replacement hose with a electric heating element running through it, that is reported to prevent condensation in even the coldest bedrooms.

TY for the reply I will check into that, only question is how to get the hose off I tried but it seems to be extremely tight.
