Somnomed Succeeded as Alternative to CPAP

Post by ericlhyman » Tue Apr 14, 2009 6:52 am

While the CPAP certainly helped me feel and look better, I am very happy that a PSG confirmed that the Somnomed mandibular advancement device with a setting of 4.2 mm of jaw advancement will allow me to stop using the CPAP machine.

Any chance you could post the new PSG info so we can all learn from seeing your exact results, including AHI and O2, to compare with your earlier posted PSG info? Thanks.

If CPAP, the medically proven effective treatment for OSA, is working, making you feel and look better, why give it up and try to get used to something else that may or may not work?

I use both at the same time, myself--a MAD and autobilevel simultaneously--every night. The MAD helps keep my mouth closed and allows my pressures to run a few cm lower, in my experience.
