I just got back from a ten-day trip to Charleston, SC from Orlando, FL via AMTRAK. Though the trip each way was during the day and not long enough to warrant using CPAP, I noted 120V outlets for each set of seats. I think this power is derived from batteries; does anyone know if they provide a true sinusoidal wave form? I am contemplating a trip to Portland, OR via train and expect to use bedroom accomodations and need to know to decide if I use the HH.

AMTRAK 120V output sinusoidal?

I don't have an answer to your question, although I am looking for one....
What I can tell you from decades of train travel is that power at times cuts off....equipment issues, change of engine type, etc. Sometimes the cut off is just a few seconds, sometimes more.
I have had to fly to destinations which I previously arrived at by overnight train because I do not yet have a portable battery system for CPAP. I know at home, if I have a momentary power outage (very rare for me) I would have to get awake and press the button to resume therapy, even if the outtage was only a few seconds.
