Mirage Activa LT-Can I use the Mirage Activa frame?

Post by terry123 » Fri Apr 03, 2009 5:26 pm

I think I have seem someone on the forum say that the Mirage Activa LT Nasal Mask would fit the old Mirage Activa frame, so could just buy a new cushion or new cushion and clip and use my old Mirage Activa frame. Just wanted to confirm that they were interchangable before I order.
Thanks, Terry

Terry,

You might email CPAP.Com with that question. They are very helpful and respond quickly. I even got a response on a Saturday afternoon!

I think that it's just the opposite - the Activa LT uses the same nasal cushion as the Activa, but the two frames are different.

Terry,

Yes, you can put the cushion from the Activa LT in the old Activa frame. I do it every night. The Activa LT frame is different only in that it has a dial on it for adjusting the forehead piece. The headgear uses a different release clip. I don't like it. I prefer the old clips. So, I take the new cushion and put it in the old frame and headgear. All sizes will fir. I have tried the standard, shallow, medium and large. They are interchangeable.

Bev,

How does the cushion on the LT differ from the one on the original activa?

Barely discernable difference. Activa LT is on the right.

Thanks, Bev.

It looks smaller than the original one, but fits anyway? WOW!

The blue frame, although different color, are exactly the same.

That doesn't make any sense. (at least to me!) Why come out with a brand new mask with the only difference is a dial for the forehead support and different clips?
I always say if it ain't broke don't fix it! Oh, well I guess I will stay with my original activa. Thanks.

The cushion part is just a little bit smaller and possibly lighter. They both feel heavy to me. If you had a flex setting on your machine, or bipap, you might feel the difference in how it "plunges". I can't tell the difference with my settings. I use them interchangeably.

Thanks Bev, I was wanting to try the LT, but I wanted to just buy a new cushion if it would fit. I love my Mirage Activa. Its the only one that I don't have to tighten so much, but it does seem a little large and the LT looks a little smaller. I knew I had seen your post about it in the past, but couldn't find it, so thanks for the help. Terry

I finally got an Activa LT at the end of January. I really am very pleased with it. No air leaks into my eyes and its comfortable. I have a question-they gave me a medium cushion and it fits good, but the bottom part seems to cover my lips. I asked the DME if the cushions from the Activa would fit and they said no. I measured my nose with a template from the Activa and decided I needed a shallow large but the Activa LT doesn't come in the shallow.
which cushion would be shorter or are they all supposed to cover the top lip. I'm talking about the outer part of the cushion, not the part that blows the air into my nose.

All of the ones that I have (Standard, Shallow, Medium LT and Large LT) cut across my upper lip. The Resmed rep that I talked to said that they will be coming out with a Small LT soon. I don't know how that one will be different, but probably won't fit over a large bridged nose, like mine.

For tonight I put the LT Medium cushion on my regular Activa mask to see how that works. When I used the LT only my leak rates were higher for some reason. Also I do like the extra tubing that the regular Activa has so I don't get the full force of 12cm right into my face as with the LT mask. I will check out how the exchange works for me tonight.
